Detailed descriptions of art galleries provided by Austin Peay State University:
Located in the Margaret Fort Trahern Art and Drama complex, the Trahern Gallery opened in 1974. Since that time it has featured a wide variety of regional, national and international exhibitions. The active, exhibit calendar changes on a regular basis and provides students and the community the opportunity to view quality, original artforms, first-hand. Gallery hours: 9:00 am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
Trahern Gallery is the centerpiece of the Department of Art's Living Gallery Program this year. In addition to exhibitions space the gallery will serve as a studio for 22 art students. The public is welcome to visit during regular business hours. During the evening of the first Thursday of the month, we will hold a reception for all visitors fropm 5-8pm. Come visit our studios and exhibitions in Trahern and all across campus from Sept 2012 through April 2013
The purpose of the Trahern Galleries is to promote the mission and vision of Austin Peay State University by hosting engaging and thought-provoking exhibitions of artworks:

That support the University's commitment to collaboration, critical inquiry and cultural diversity
That are meaningful to the University's location, identity and mission

The Downtown Gallery is located at 116 Strawberry Alley in Downtown Clarksville. It is dedicated to exhibiting the work of APSU Faculty and Alumni.

Senior Show
Located on the first floor of Harned Hall – a historic building in the center of the campus, this large, attractive gallery features selections from the Austin Peay State University permanent art collection. Artworks in this gallery are changed periodically, but have a longer display time than works in the Trahern Gallery.
Gallery hours: 8:00 am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday. Open during the summer.
Terminal is an on-line gallery sponsored by the Department of Art and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts at Austin Peay State University to showcase and examine internet and new media art.
The site is directed and maintained by Barry Jones, Associate Professor of Art at Austin Peay State University.
The first exhibition was launched on 10.29.07 and corresponded with a gallery exhibition in the Trahern Gallery on the campus of APSU.
Each year four artists are selected to receive Terminal Awards to aid in the creation of new internet art works ( art intended to be viewed / experienced on the internet )
